چکیده

Given the increase of nuclear power plants, it has become unavoidable for pile-supported nuclear-island buildings to be constructed on coastal deposits potentially influenced by strong earthquakes. The coupling influences hysteresis nonlinearity soil and soil-pile-structure interaction (SPSI) have not yet been considered comprehensively in seismic response analysis building, although is a vital issue. On basis newly-developed generalized non-Masing hysteretic constitutive model, 3D integrated simulation method proposed evaluate responses pile-mat-founded building system subjected multidirectional earthquake motions. This involves an explicit parallel algorithm framework, comprising modeling, pile-mat foundation inhomogeneous domain artificial boundary condition. bedrock records near-field, moderate-far field far-field scenarios are assumed determining motions ultimate operational safety For actual AP1000 results show complexity significance effect site, tridirectional shaking, secondary soil. Such complex significantly increases building. A notable finding that scenario earthquakes with abundant long period components may more destructive potential than characteristics short shorter durations. provide insights into design buildings, which could guide construction such similar facilities high intensity regions.

Nonlinear Soil - Pile - Structure Interaction in Dynamic or Seismic Response

The stiffness and damping of pile foundations are proposed, which vary with the ratio of shear modulus Gi / Go to indicate the nonlinear properties of soil. The range of Gi / Go is defined with different vibration intensities for applications, and a computer program DYNAN is available based on the boundary zone model with non-reflective interface. Two engineering cases are studied to illustrate...

Evaluation of Seismic Behavior of Steel Moment Resisting Frames Considering Nonlinear Soil-structure Interaction

In structural analysis, the base of structures is usually assumed to be completely rigid. However, the combination of foundation and the subsurface soil, makes in fact a flexible-base for the soil-structure system. It is well-known that the structural responses can be significantly affected by incorporating the Soil-structure Interaction (SSI) effects. The aim of the present study is to provide...

Vertical Vibration Analysis of Soil-pile Interaction Systems Considering the Soil-pile Interface Behavior

A numerical method is presented herein to study soil-pile interaction systems in a stratified media. The method is based on a coupling of the finite element method and the boundary element method. The near field is modeled by the finite elements whereas the far field is modeled by the boundary dement formulation using the multi-layer dynamic fimdamental solution that satisfies the radiation con...

Comparison of Seismic Input Energy Based on the Characteristics of Structural Hysteretic Behavior

The variation of earthquake input energy with characteristics of various structural systems, particularly in hysteretic states, has not been studied to such extent that creates enough con-fidence for proposing energy-based design criteria. In this paper, at first, based on a somehow new insight into the concept of earthquake input energy, two concepts of ‘Received Energy’ (ERec) and ‘Returned E...

Simple Pile-Soil Interaction Effect on Seismic Response of Fixed Offshore Platforms

In this paper effect of pile-soil consideration in obtaining seismic response offshore structure is assessed due to earthquake loading. InducedSeismic force is one of the most important excitations for the dynamic response of an offshore structure. According to API, Seismic forces should be accounted in platform design for seismically active regions in order to determine the allowable seismic r...
